Trust & Safety

How we protect the exchange

Two things can go wrong here: money can go somewhere it shouldn't, and a work can be sold by someone who doesn't own it. Everything below exists to catch one or the other.

Your money

  • Card details never touch our servers — Stripe handles every charge and holds the payment credentials.
  • Every movement of money is recorded as balanced double-entry postings. An automated nightly job fails loudly if debits and credits ever diverge.
  • Funds allocated to a project are held until the project either funds or expires. Expired projects return every allocation to the donor's wallet automatically.
  • Financial records are append-only. Corrections are made by posting a reversal, never by editing history.

Rights verification

  • A creator must attest that they hold the full rights to the work before it can be listed.
  • Funding does not release the payout on its own — the rights transfer is signed first, then the creator is paid, then the work is published.
  • A credible competing rights claim freezes a project immediately, before payout.

Reporting a problem

Mail trust@mywork.rocks with the project link and what you believe is wrong. Rights claims should say who you are, what you own, and how you own it. We acknowledge reports within two business days.

What happens next

  • Under review. The project is flagged. If money is at risk, funding and payout are paused while we look.
  • Resolved. Either the flag is cleared and funding resumes, or the project is removed and every allocation is returned to its donor.
  • Repeat or deliberate abuse. The account is banned, and payment fraud is reported to Stripe and, where appropriate, to law enforcement.

Account security

Two-factor authentication is available on every account from account settings, with single-use recovery codes for when a device is lost. Active sessions are listed there and can be revoked individually.
